About Me

Monmita Chakrabarti (they/she) is an writer and educator based in St. Louis, Missouri. Their work has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and was runner up in The Upper New Review’s Global Essay Contest. They are currently working on a collection of essays about the body.

After receiving their Bachelor’s degree in English with a Minor in Gender Studies from Kenyon College in 2022, Monmita worked for a year as a research assistant for a reproductive justice non-profit based in New Delhi. In 2023, she moved to St. Louis to earn her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Nonfiction Writing from Washington University. Currently, they work as an Adjunct Instructor of English at Maryville University and a Professional Writing Tutor at St. Louis Community College.
