Teaching

I am passionate about helping students find their voice in writing. My experiences in higher education in addition to my creative nonfiction background uniquely equip me to guide students through writing effective college application essays. As a tutor at St. Louis Community College, I assist students with transfer applications to four-year colleges and universities in addition to college writing assignments, resumes, and cover letters. I have guided students through application and scholarship essays for institutions like WashU, Georgetown, Mizzou, and UMSL. As a freelance tutor, I have also assisted an alum of the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law with the personal statement for their law school application.

Teaching Composition 101 and 104 at Maryville University, I provide students with the skills they need to succeed with writing at the college level. At Washington University in St. Louis, I taught Creative Nonfiction Writing to undergraduates, sharing my love for the genre with a great group of students whose work we will hopefully all be reading one day.
